It’s one thing to step down and acknowledge your sin; it’s another entirely to refuse to leave the spotlight and continue leading after being caught hiding it. I watched the entire podcast, and while he may genuinely feel repentant for what he was caught doing, I can’t ignore that he was a skilled performer and a convincing liar before being exposed. He may feel genuine now, but he also appeared genuine while preaching, all the while abusing drugs and cheating on his wife. Clearly, he hid his sin for a long time, and it’s troubling when people caught in serious wrongdoing act as if it’s somehow normal, as if our universal brokenness excuses their actions. Yes, we are all sinners, but framing it this way often avoids true accountability and treats serious hypocrisy as a normal Christian experience. No, he was a hypocrite. Christians are not hypocrites simply because we sin; to be a hypocrite is to put on a mask and pretend to be something you’re not. We are called to confess and be open about our sin. It’s not hypocritical to acknowledge you are a sinner. It is hypocritical to preach while hiding affairs and drug abuse, manipulating people for your own pleasures. #christian #christianity #christianitytiktok #christianfyp #christiantiktok

In short, we are called to forgive, but reconciliation requires true repentance on the other person’s part. If your discernment tells you that you should not be close to them, it is perfectly acceptable to remain separated. We are called to fellowship with those of a like mind who are pursuing Christ, not with the world or with people who refuse to repent. Do not let anyone convince you that the command to love is the same as a command to like someone or be friends with them.
